You can register and get the cards on your phone now. The library app lets you download ebooks, audiobooks, and lets you check out books ahead of time. You can access most publications through your library (free nyt cooking). They have language apps that are better than duolingo. Access to all of LinkedIn course content and certification classes. And a lot more stuff I’m just learning about. Plus getting a card helps keep the libraries open and funded. 10/10 experience so far
Changed my life. Can pull up a digital version of any book I'm reading anywhere (like on my laptop in class😈) completely free. Free audiobooks. Upped my literary consumption by at least 75%. Lots of TV and movies too. Unsubscribe from your streaming service. Save $15. Get a library card.
First you need a library card which is also something I highly recommend. Libby is my favorite recommendation and I will talk about it whenever I get the chance. Because it’s also free. You can read magazines which will give you something to do on your phone instead of doomscrolling. You can listen to audiobooks too and they have literally everything. You can look at an eBook of a cookbook and get a recipe.
You get free printing, subscriptions to tons of newspapers, sometimes even free Adobe??? And lol ... free books, movies and more. Libraries will save us. Get your card!!
It bums me out whenever someone's trying to say something but cuts themselves off or says "nevermind" because they assume that they're wasting time. Think it through, or let it come back to you. 3 years ago, I started saying, "Talk through the thought" with my friend, and I think it's made me more patient, and I've ended up hearing/saying some cool shit (or at least some funny shit) that I would've probably missed out on otherwise.
