Is it a weird affectation that Jesse Kamm has dubbed her pants ‘Kammpants?’ Maybe! But these pants ARE a category unto themselves – something altogether different from the denim, sweatpants, and trousers in my closet – so I’ll defend her right to give her pants their own nomenclature anyday. Kammpants are thick cotton canvas – thick enough to kind of stand up on their own – super high rise in a way women in their 30s like me like, and I feel so deeply like myself in them. Like, literally, when drunk and feeling dumb and contemplative, I’ve actually had the thought: am I a sentient Kammpant?

I’m not proud to be recommending protein bars. I wish to be an ethereal, romantic, breezy person to who doesn’t deign to concern herself with life’s practicalities. But, sadly for me, I’m actually an extremely type-A woman who is constantly striving, optimizing, and fretting. AKA a woman who tracks her protein intake just cause.
