Started putting repeat prompts into my calendar at parts of my day where I know I’m not doing anything. Stuff like “practice french”, “read something”, “write something”,“call/text someone important” etc. like 15 minute tasks that run shorter or longer depending on how I’m feeling that day. Haven’t started ignoring them yet but they’re all pretty low stakes. It’s been making me feel slightly more productive and also like a sim, which I love.

i need structure to survive and it helps to add things to my calendar, because in my brain it's like i've "signed up" to do something for a certain amount of time. whether its a hobby, workout, researching a project, an errand etc it goes in my calendar or to-do list. even if i already did x thing that day, i put it on the list just to cross it off which feels nice :-) it helps me not gaslight myself into thinking i didn't do anything because i can look at the list!

I like to put a time frame of when I want to get the task done by, writing it down: “do [thing] by 4pm”. I don’t always actually do things by that time but then that encourages me to speed up if I’m going over since it does make me feel guilty so pushes me to complete it. Also download one of those apps like flora where you grow a tree when you don’t check your phone. Or One Sec which stops you for a second whenever you open a certain app, to make you think about what you’re doing.

been using my phone calendar to plan my days but sometimes I need things to be physical in order to fully retain it, maybe I’m stupid, maybe David foster wallace was right about television. Now I do Cork-Board-Choreo. left side is creative project(s), right side is plans for the following day that I make the night prior. Yeah I could get a daily planner, but this is the first thing I see when I open my eyes in the morning AND it’s colorful AND when I do one of the tasks I can take off the paper and crush it up, honestly that part feels better than actually doing the laundry or buying the groceries or calling my uncle Dan which I still haven’t done. This might be a side effect from watching snl from 1975-present. But it works!

Remote, cucumber, bag of chips, house keys. Not sure they get anything out of it, but they just seem happy to be kept in the loop.

It bums me out whenever someone's trying to say something but cuts themselves off or says "nevermind" because they assume that they're wasting time. Think it through, or let it come back to you. 3 years ago, I started saying, "Talk through the thought" with my friend, and I think it's made me more patient, and I've ended up hearing/saying some cool shit (or at least some funny shit) that I would've probably missed out on otherwise.
