I haven't felt totally comfortable playing/being at a music venue in so long. Much like the show houses of yore (rip Golden Tea House). No duds--EWEL forever.

There's a neat kombucha bar / music venue in town, and it's one of my favorite places to see music. Pretty much exclusively indie/punk shows, but a friend asked us to play there, and we brought a very different vibe with our old time/bluegrass/folk stuff. Everyone was so nice, and it was fun to merge two sort of different worlds that share a DIY ethos

fairly small venue but i just went for my first time last night and it was fantastic. very kind staff. really cute atmosphere. sounds like it doubles as a restaurant/bar during the day but i've never been... very tempted

I've been on a real journey lately. You see the person across the room and you know them... and you know they know you... but you know that they aren't going to come over and say hi... do it. Take the plunge. However the approach needs to happen, make contact. Don't wait until you see them at the next networking event and say "hey were you at the taco place the other day?" It's surprisingly empowering and frankly kind of an impressive social maneuver. The reward is giddy and powerful and immediate. It makes me feel like I've broken out of the matrix.

My friend and I happened upon this. Meaning, strive to live your life in a way that makes you feel hot. Dress to feel hot. Talk to feel hot. Do whatever you do, but in a way that makes you feel like you're worthy of the love and adoration and crushes and desire you deserve. This does not mean "sexy" necessarily--hotness is always shifting and has many forms. But reach deep inside and you'll find that your own personal method and mode of hotness can always, and most of the time is, an excellent guide.
