i talk a big game re: hating on various sugary starbucks "creations" (what happened to coffee-flavored coffee, etc. etc.) and yet when i am in an area that has a Philz coffee, i will not hesitate to order an iced mint mojito coffee "the house way." it's not coffee...it's more like poetry. it looks like "royce" made my coffee, thank you royce!
istg I daydream about it. Idk what they've laced it with. I don't even drink coffee regularly. Like once every couple weeks. And I'm not close enough to a Philz to get it more than a few times a year. But I do spend the rest of the year thinking and plotting my way to a Phillz. It's probably good I don't live near one. I think I like it because it's pour overs and most cafe drinks tend to be espresso. But even other coffee shop pour overs do not compare. It's so smooth. (no one asked but I copy my cousin's order which is a philtered soul with cinnamon in the filter, sweet and creamy)
I am a bit of a coffee snob and self-proclaimed cold brew expert. Here are my faves:
-La Colombe. Duh. Best of the best.
-Designers Collab. They have La Colombe, but not only that, they are βbespokeβ, so you can customize your flavors!
-Partners Coffee
-Quawah House (new for me, but it is fantastic!)
avoid decision fatigue by leaving the song choices to the disc jockey, and bask in the glow of real-time music curation. the less corporate the radio station, the better (love a good college/independent radio station); shake up your genres (jazz and classical radio always get me going), but also don't be afraid to indulge in Top 40 because it's good to find out what's "going on" in pop. level up with a shower radio. good luck and godspeed π΅
endless entertainment. i just love the way squirrels move and the way they react to things. saw this gorgeous specimen in beverly hills recently, munching on something. i wish i knew what he was thinking...
