Bikes are fun! I loved ripping around them as a kid, but the moment I got a flat my dad threw his hands up and the bike was forever hung up. Flash forward to adult life and living in a city where owning a car isn't necessary, I commute everywhere by bike. A decent toolkit and youtube are enough to do most things and learning how to do simple repairs and adjustments on my bike has been empowering and satisfying. Working on bikes is a fun mechanical and delicate challenge!
Fun fact: a bike rolling down hill will stay upright longer than a standing bike.
royallmonarch I swear by Park Tool's tutorials. 9/10 times, I will literally go to youtube and search "park tool how to _______" and click their video. Happy wrenching!
Over the past couple months I’ve found my love for bikes again, especially fixies. idk what it is, I use to ride alot with friends in highschool , maybe that love or hobby is coming back. I just love walking through the city and seeing a nice bike frame and the handlebars, something about it really makes my day.
BEST COAST NO COAST (technically wrong because we have THE LARGEST BODY OF FRESH WATER IN THE WORLD). We're stereotyped as being nice; our signature dishes are all things that make you feel more full than a grain silo at the end of the harvest season; the great lakes are beautiful; supper clubs; 4 seasons superiority; relatively mild natural disasters; endless list of artists, musicians, generally successful and prolific people from the midwest; natural wonders galore (driftless region, boundary waters, apostle islands, etc.); eccentric culture and lifestyle; the list goes on and on. I love being from Wisconsin, and I will never feel bad about it.
