a solo mission is when you - with no prior plans in mind - get dressed up on your own and head to a “happening” spot of town with the explicit intent of initiating at least one social interaction with a stranger.
i am aware this is a thing normal people do from time to time, but as an extremely introverted person who often finds himself using his much more extroverted friends as a crutch in new social environments, putting myself out there like this has dramatically increased my comfortability with socializing. i’m still pretty skittish and reserved but i am measurably better at navigating the social world on my own since i started doing this regularly
