i lost my airpods a while ago and because i don’t like wearing my huge over-ear, noise-cancelling headphones all the time, i got some classic wired headphones from apple for like 20 bucks. the audio quality probably isn’t amazing compared to other headphones, but where it lacks in audio quality (and practicality, frankly), it makes up for in sentimentality. wired headphones can take so many different shapes and they allow you to hear the music around you, like kids playing after school, couples bickering about stupid stuff, etc, etc. also, when it gets cold out, i love putting them under the hoodie or sweater i’m wearing and having them stick out and hang at the collar :,)
they don't fall out of your ears, are hard to lose, you don't have to charge them or connect to bluetooth, and they are super cheap. reject modernity embrace tradition
one time my friend and i were in a fight with some random guy in the comments of another friend’s instagram (we were roasting him for being a creep) and he hit me with this and i still laugh about it to this day. at one point i even made it my twitter header because it was just so good.
taking a break from anything feels productive, but specifically a break from sex feels grounding. tactful. sometimes it’s just fun to say no, sometimes i really need to center myself, and sometimes maybe i need to find God.
