what was that one thing your grandma used to feed you? raw garlic from her fingers or a dish you couldn’t pronounce so she called it something different, something cute, something easy for you to request because she wanted you to always be able to tell her how best to love you?
I was talking with friends about grandparent lingo, and my Texan grandparents say the cutest things. Whenever I visit, I'm greeted with "well darlin' come here and give me some sugar, tell me what you been doing" ❣️☺️One of my fam's fav terms of endearment :) My Grammie would also say "oh sit down let me tell you a funny!" I think calling funny stories a funny is so funny lmao 🤪
because listen, hear me out… one in the car one by your bed one at your desk one in your bag!!! i don’t have time for anything, let alone moving balm from place to place. i never have it when i need it, four lip balms at any given time are a must!
get to know the technology of your parents, discover what treasure people can pull from the boxes in their attic or the corner of their garage, something like a bag made to carry eight cassette tapes (!!!) or the very same word processor you learned how to type on. planned obsolescence be damned!!!! let your home be infested by e-waste bugs, they move slow and creak binary into your ears at night but they all die eventually.
i need a tape recorder in my back pocket. a cassette accustomed to my voice i’ll be quick on the draw and won’t have to worry anymore about my thoughts clumping together and becoming so heavy that they sink into oblivion
