So I’m learning about Jim Jarmusch bc I’m watching Stranger than Paradise and I saw that he started a “tongue-in-cheek” “secret society” of men who look like they could be the sons of 1950s actor Lee Marvin. Nick Cave, Iggy Pop, Josh Brolin, and the protagonist of Stranger than Paradise, among others, have been inducted into the Club. Details of their activities are hazy. Crucially: I finally have a crisp way to describe cartoony full-lipped bowling pin head white man physiognomy [e.g. Bret Easton Ellis, Ron Perlman, Anthony Bourdain]
sometimes i cry a lot thinking about getting married, being afraid i’ll never meet that person. when i do that i just start thinking about my sister and my best friends and all the love i do have and then it doesn’t seem so scary anymore.
