- my irritability on commutes can be easily traced to a case of low blood sugar. In short, if I’m upset it’s typically because ‘I’m Hungies’- I'm almost 30 and I have only recently accepted this as fact. Traveling with snacks has DRASTICALLY lowered the odds that I will cry on the subway or trauma dump on my socials.

If you’re not in the aisle seat and need to wake someone up, wake them up. This doesn’t make you rude or a bad person! Get to the airport early-early if you can. No need to add additional stress to your trip. Someone here suggested packing a couple days early to reduce stress. Some people love a neck pillow. Bring an empty water bottle to fill after going thru airport security Keep your seatbelt on, loosened a little, so any turbulence won’t feel scary Maybe think about how wonderful it is to be able to travel so far so quickly. Flying is annoying and uncomfortable, and it also is safe!
