You ever bring up Steely Dan around someone you thought you knew and loved and they start saying things like “well you gotta check out Donald Fagen’s solo work!” It happened to me. I spent all of December listening to nothing but Steely Dan. It was really dark. I listened to Gaucho four times in a row on an Amtrak. Anyways I’m normal again now, back to listening to other music. But Steely Dan? Pretty good.
I love Steely Dan. No other band balances satire, narrative, sheer musical ability. The core of Donald and Walter are hardcore gatekeepers of the vibe, but for the betterment of the songs, and ultimately, culture.
The best part of phones is that they’re a small box of all of your friends. You can basically always talk to one of your friends. Even if they’re one million away. Isn’t that just the coolest thing ever. Call a friend today and chat for no reason. It’s one of the best things you can do.
Folks— whether or not I should be ashamed to admit it, I’m all about sitting on the toilet and going on my phone. It’s very easy (and fun) to be guilty of this; a faint Instagram reel through the door is the modern warbler by the window.
