Perfect movie. I just saw they are making an english language remake (original is in Danish) which is insane to me?? It needs no remake, it is perfect. On hulu! Watch to laugh and cry and think.
This movie has such a silly premise with these high school teachers daring themselves to be constantly intoxicated for science, but there's a lot of care in how the characters are written and how they navigate the challenges they have going on in their lives as they conduct this experiment.
Mads Mikkelsen delivers a stellar performance as well
In my line of work, it's tempting to drink a lot. I like to watch this movie every now and again as a check-in to see where my relationship to alcohol stands. Am I having fun while I’m out? Is it making me more gregarious, more impassioned? Or has it been isolating me, making me unreliable, making me down-right sad? This movie is excellent in many ways, one being that it spans the gamut of what booze can do for you and to you. When in doubt, tag yourself.
Awesome movie…closest I’ve gotten to crying in a movie in a while and the most I have laughed in a movie in recent memory. Going to recreate Part 1 of their experiment with some friends and do a more complete write up of thoughts after.
In an appropriate context of course, but the taboo around salaries was born from concealing the fact that women and bipoc made less. Let's be transparent! It's important to benchmark our salaries so that we can make sure we are all getting paid what we deserve!!
My sibs and I are close but we have lots of age gaps and live in different places and have very different lives so we don’t always communicahe a lot. I've started to facetime them constantly to say hi. Sometimes they don't pick up but that is ok. As long as they do sometimes and I can see their face and say hi :)
