i’ve been playing runescape – it’s the perfect game if you only have 30 minutes but also you can play for hours. great before bed relaxer to just chop some trees. i play it on my steam deck but if i'm feeling crazy i throw it on my pc with a podcast going.
It’s 2005. I get up early before school and slip into my family's computer room. I turn the volume up just loud enough to hear the lofi medieval tunes and sfx, but not too much to wake my parents. I start a new quest and train my fishing skill. It’s chill.
I don’t know what it is about them, maybe it’s the music or the terrible graphics, or maybe just remembering how it felt to have so much extra time on my hands that I could sit and play whatever free/cheap video game I could get my little hands on and disappear for hours on end without having to stress about deadlines or sleep schedules. Sometimes when its slow at work I’ll play some of the old soundtracks on my headphones to pass the time :)
