i mostly shoot on film because i hate editing photos
i know some people like it, but i do not i think if you were to bring around a little film P&S you'd find a new joy in yourself capturing moments with your family or whatever you'd like to shoot i'll occasionally touch up things in post if the scan was weird, but i like the rawness my 2c : )
I have an entire section of my fridge that’s dedicated to storing film and when my friend house sat for me once, he mentioned that I was the coolest person he knew because of said film nook. I know it’s silly but that was the highlight of my year ❤️
I have a manual film camera but need to get a point and shoot. I saw Perfect Days recently and the main character carries one around, really inspired me to get one to capture the simpler things in life as they are
my current gear is an iPhone 12 Pro Max and a Nikon V1. I’ve had the V1 for ages and love it. I hate smartphone photography for the most part. It just doesn’t “feel right”.
baroquebloke the closest I've gotten is the sigma dp2 quattro--gorgeous jpegs and raw files that are unlike anything else. but an utterly bizarre design that makes it a less than ideal snapshot camera unfortunately. the older DPs are also wonderful and much smaller, but the jpegs suck
as a mostly digital shooter this is totally my favorite thing about film. it took so long to find a digital camera that gave me the look i want with little or no editing
You’re not wrong. Expense is a concern as well as follow through. I’ve been considering a CampSnap camera as a compromise in this but I’m hesitant to add yet another device to the mix
the formally independent (recently acquired by studio movie grill LOL) River Oaks Theatre was a place where i saw so many beautiful movies and seeing this one rlly sutck with me! twas a feast for the eyes
tomorrow PI.FYI launches to the public this project is the result of thousands of hours spent coding everything from scratch after I got laid off six months ago no thiel-bucks or weirdo outsider money, just a pure desire to make something fun and true to Perfectly Imperfect’s day one goal of helping people find new things from real human beings, not algorithms or AI a pure labor of love that I’ve been quietly plotting for two years and it’s completely self-funded from my (rapidly) dwindling savings account so thank you for coming along for this weird ride 🫶 let's see where it goes
