knowing when to keep your mouth shut

for all the glorification of “yapping” there is also something to be said for just not speaking. very often your best course of action is to just shut the fuck up. you gotta become okay with the idea of “sitting this one out,” playing your cards close to your chest, moving in silence like lasagna, etc etc loose lips sink ships!!!!

Feeling wronged by a former lover? Tell them, then just let that shit go. Friend made a flippant comment that upset you. Just tell them and move on with the friendship instead of letting things build. Hold people to a higher standard. As long as you’re not hurting anyones feelings.

purchase a radio and listen to the radio

avoid decision fatigue by leaving the song choices to the disc jockey, and bask in the glow of real-time music curation. the less corporate the radio station, the better (love a good college/independent radio station); shake up your genres (jazz and classical radio always get me going), but also don't be afraid to indulge in Top 40 because it's good to find out what's "going on" in pop. level up with a shower radio. good luck and godspeed 🎵
