Film is in spanish but canāt recommend enough (criterion english subtitles are mostly accurate for non spanish speakers). Nothing like a charming, dramatic, comedy with a short run time. Really chaotic but not stressful and pretty much just about not being able to get over a love affair until you do. Shoutout the random flyer (their insta linked here) i found for this club that did a screening yesterday, they do monthly screenings in the silver lake area.
thisryanegan i need to watch that one still, thanks for the rec! Strange Way of Life (2023) is a fine short watch but i really enjoyed Pain and Glory(2019)
Very surreal viewing experience with myself and one dude being the only solitary perverts in our small theater packed to the gills with peopleācouples, pairs of women, and a front row of college aged girls having a ladiesā night. They were talking so loudly that people had to yell at them to shut up. (After the movie I heard one of them say āI think it was straight middle aged freaky not actually freaky. Sheās a straight middle aged woman in power who wants to be dominated by the man and thatās the only thing. And she was a terrible person the entire time!ā) I was blushing furiously the whole time and shrinking into my seat and my jaw definitely dropped multiple times. Very cerebral and psychosexually loaded movie that deals primarily in restraint to explore control vs vulnerabilityā¦
On letterboxd. Like how do you rate the Virgin Suicides or Killer of the Flower Moon?! So heavy and devastating!
Fully sticking to just saying whether i like a movie or not going forward!
coworker who followed me on letterboxd on my second day working there, who i rarely see, complimented my reviews this week and i got giddy as hell. She had me stuttering and i havent come down from that high, sheās so cool too
