Most of my time is spent waiting for the minutes to pass, and I've grown fond of whipping out a book when it's slow at work, or when I'm waiting for a friend in the car, or in the clinic waiting room waiting for my name to be called, etc. I've finished my 2023 reading goal, and now I keep the shortest book I own in my purse wherever I go. I switch it from time to time, but it's always Annie Ernaux: The Possession or Simple Passion. :)

the ultra-thin pages and tiny font elevates the metaphysical weight of any book from a fantasy novel into the bible, probably due to the similarity in page thickness and font size to the average leather-bound bible. easy to transport and open with one hand, super handy for travel by subway. i've been reading this series with multiple different book sizes and ultimately it just feels like there's more to each book when it's packed into such a small container.

when it comes to an Italian restaurant you really have to aim for middle-of-the-road. it can’t be too nice. you want BIG plates of pasta and parm dust on everything and unlimited warm but not house-made bread. a waitress with really long coffin nails. photos of famous people on the walls and a group of questionable well-dressed men smoking outside. that’s where the real Italians go and that’s where you’ll have the best dining experience
