I'm obsessed. I do the "Daily" grid every day, and do at least one of the other grids - "Off-Script," "TV Grid," "Classic," or "Archive." I never really got into Wordle and Connections does not play to my skill set, so it's nice to have a daily puzzle in my routine.
I got my best friend hooked and we love to share our scores and guesses. She is much better than me, and her mom is even better than her. I often get my boyfriend to help, he is not so good with names and faces but he has seen more action and Marvel movies than me, so we balance each other. (Sidebar: "I feel him out, he feels me out, and together... we go for it." - Kim Cattrall).
If you haven't played here's how it works. You get a grid with 9 boxes and 9 guesses to complete the grid. On the left are 3 actors or sometimes directors, then along the top are 3 categories - such as, "Best Picture Nominee," "One Word Title, excluding "the"," or sometimes another actor or director." You are rewarded more points for more obscure or less popular choices. So while knowing a lot of Marvel movies is helpful, it is often a more popular guess and gives you a low score. But you must be careful not to list something in one category that fits better in another - my classic error. For example, I once listed "The Greatest Showman" under "2010-2024" for Hugh Jackman then screwed myself when I realized "Zac Efron" was another category.
So far, knowing the cast of "Drop Dead Gorgeous" has really paid off for me. So brush up on your Marvel movies and your niche ensemble cast movies.
(There is also a new Vulture version called "Cinematrix" which I also play).
