especially poetry!!! hearing ada limĂłn read âinstructions on not giving upâ actually saved my life a little. current listen is âcheckout 19â by claire-louise bennett
Girl in a band by Kim Gordon. Her monotone voice is great, and the book is really interesting, sonic youth fan or not. Fun game to play is googling any name she talks about when they live in New York. Itâs inevitably some artist or person of interest. also the audiobook is free on YouTube
i am usually a physical book person but i recently started listening to marina abramovic's memoir via audiobook and her voice narrating it is soooo fucking good
(i did a free trial on https://www.audiobooks.com/ )
something unlocked in me when I started getting into audiobooks! I put them on while I drive, fold laundry, cook, etc and now I canât stop - my favorites recently have been nonfiction/related to current events so in a way it feels very much like a podcast substitute but with a longer runtime. Iâd recommend to anyone whoâs been struggling with attention/trying to make it through a physical book, itâs like an easier alternative to sitting still that still allows you to grow your brain/expand those reading comprehension skills! Libby has free audiobooks with a library card, Spotify premium also includes certain audiobooks and there are plenty of other resources online
I love reading and I love physical books but that is not aligning with this phase of my life rn. I remembered I could borrow the audiobook version of the novel thatâs been judging me on my table since I picked it up from the library and wow. I can listen while I do the 50 million things I need to do in a day. Incredible!!! I canât sit and chill and read but I can listen and cook and clean and weed and fish rocks out of my daughterâs mouth!! Hooray!!
