yMusic is a classical contemporary chamber group with unique instrumentation that I first heard of by looking up Rob Moose, who is both the violinist for yMusic and the violinist for pop acts like Miley Cyrus and Phoebe Bridgers. I had the pleasure of seeing them perform (and premiere some of) their original compositions at Carnegie Hall in 2023 and I had a great time. I have a long history with classical music and I was a violinist for a long time (I hope to say I will be one again as soon) and this is the kind of music that I would have loved to think I would play one day when I was a teenager and had a semblance of a thought of being an adult violinist.
