beautiful, miniature, complex and delicate. I was in awe of the Scottish conditions yesterday at Smuggler’s Notch, Vermont. I followed my friend Daniel up 3 routes, 6 pitches total, and 800 feet of ice. a very full day. no injuries or mishaps, some faff, and my cup overflows with joy.
Went up the Hudson and hiked “Anthony’s nose” (great name). love a good medium level hike — a decent feat but not going to make me yell at my boyfriend on the way up . It was my first time doing a snowy hike. Absolutely beautiful, nothing like crunching the snow with your boots. At the top we rewarded ourselves with some Chex mix and gatorade. A guy near us smoked a joint and I felt envious of his lungs. reminded me I should’ve brought my inhalor.
kinda like rock climbing but if you fall you have a 33% chance of getting a life altering injury. i’m in northern Vermont. i drove for 3 days to get here, and visited some wonderful friends along the way. i’m getting a very full day of swinging picks and kicking feet tomorrow before i head towards New Hampshire on Friday morning. did you know Montpelier Vermont is only US state capitol without a McDonalds? that’s all for now, more soon
