i was talking with a friend still in college the other day and he mentioned topics where i was like - yeah i remember learning about that but i barely know anything about it. unless you study or reminder yourself about this stuff every so often you will completely forget it. like why did i spend 16 years in the classroom destined to forget most of it??? u think thereโd be a better way for ppl to figure out what theyd like and need to know early on and teach them that

i was far too busy getting completely obliterated to do so in my early 20s. (do not recommend.)
but the experience of doing schoolwork now feels like it did as a little kid. you know.. before puberty knocked me awake to the reality of my shitty home life, which caused a haze of depression to fall over me.
in my single digit years i remember being so excited to do school work, and feeling so proud of myself when i did well. im getting a taste of that again.
i never lost the exhilarating feeling i got from gaining knowledge that truly excites me. but itโs a beautiful new kinda thing with the added clarity gained from not being ripped on weed 24/7 and the added confidence gained from surviving the shit hand that was given to me as a kid.

a lot of :
- "shit, i miscalculated what courses i needed to take this semester so i'm not going to meet all of my requirements to graduate on time"
- showing up to class one day and having to take an exam i didn't know about
- missing an exam
- failing an assignment that represented a large portion of my grade and trying to figure out if i can still somehow pass the class
occasionally they skew social; finding myself back in high school and sharing space with people i haven't seen in many years but understanding them through the lens i understand them now, but still being stuck in the social dynamic i had with them then
