Saw the band that does the How I Met Your Mother theme song/the creators of the show, The Solids, do their first show in five years, all largely music from the show, and 1) this was the nerdiest night of my life, and that's saying something and 2) there's something soooooo endearing about "getting the band back together", or seeing someone else experience that. It felt special to watch! I am a huuuuge nostalgia guy, I love nostalgia. Many layers of nostalgia were present, so obviously tonight was a perfect Friday night.

i’m kinda out on big legacy shows (mostly because i’m broke), but everyone should start seeing 90s bands that get back together. caught brainiac and lowercase on the same bill last weekend, and i wish more young people would’ve been there. also, everyone asked about you is one of the best live acts i’ve seen lately. i love when bands reunite ❤️ it feels like they’re getting a new lease on life

I have loved blink-182 since I was a tween and will follow them to the moon and back. I’ve seen them in concert many times and love supporting their side projects, listening to their offshoot bands and watching the movies they’ve made (I see you Tom). Last night, my brother and I went to see Mark Hoppus do a performative lecture / interview at The Riv as part of his book tour. I laughed, I cried, I had the best time ever. Can’t wait to crack open his New York Times #1 bestselling book!
All of this is to say, we love what we love. It’s cool growing up and into a musical group, an art form, a community of fellow aging millennial fans.
