He can Play that Damn Guitar like an eloquent public speaker. He plays like he’s your grandpa telling you the most gripping and fascinating story, pausing to emphasize important details he wants you to remember and he always keeps you wanting to hear more.
I’d recommend The Legend of Blind Joe Death album or Days Have Gone By Vol. 6.
listening to him always feels like the most American meditation- the great Santa barbara oil slick is lovely and fare forward voyagers is a masterpiece
This man has made me want to learn how to play banjo more than anything in the world. I found a bunch of his live performances on youtube. It seems he’s more of a period musician, playing songs from the minstrel era of banjo music, and often he explains the history behind the songs. Truly, the amount of talent is insane and every song hits u right in the heart. (Recommending music is such an interesting thing, words are hard to describe it) Highly recommend listening to the songs he played at The Ark! “No More the Moon Shines on Lorena” makes me cry everytime I hear it. I linked Old Dog Blues:
Underrated music movement from the 60s and 70s. John Fahey, Glenn Jones. Thank you William Tyler for introducing me to this magical world of folk guitar.
As a young person.
People in their 30s are so Normal and Locked In and they can just talk comfortably, plus they have life experience to share. I‘m looking forward to being that age.
My favorite activity at the moment. So fun to create a town, city, or land mass and imagine the history behind why there are people there and what makes the place function
