I have a natural disposition for whitefish salad passed down my maternal bloodline. I remember eating it on the subway, on the street as I walked, and in the car straight from the cup holder. My mom eats it with her bare hands- no vessel. it’s so good you have to. Personally I like it with fancy crackers.

Much of the meat we eat is some fatty slice of some vague middle segment. To bite into the head— to have a face in your jaws, two slackjawed creatures, one dead & the other drunk. 4 sets of stupid lips sucking on nothing. 4 eyes, none of them seeing anything. A face within a face, one being torn apart, made into a Duchamp painting in the dark of another’s mouth, the other completely serene, placid, in the process of being satiated. It tastes good too. Just now I ate it in a just-got-home drunken stupor. I just bit into the first piece of something fried I could get my hands on. So I was shocked when I realized that I was eating a fish head. The surprise forced me to confront reality in a way. Usually I savor the fish head. I eat the eyes, I suck them out of the sockets individually. I was taught this when I worked at a sushi restaurants. The chefs made me a fish head for my birthday.

i’m tired to hiding my love for the perfect fast food sandwich. it’s the filet o fish. they make it fresh every time. it’s 4 subpar ingredients on their own, but assemble them together and you have a delicious sandwich.
