I turn 29 today and have a 4.5 hr multi-round day of job interviews. I had knee surgery a couple years ago right before my birthday. I take comfort in the irony of it, it keeps me grounded.

I’ve come to the ripe age of 22 and it might be the first time I haven’t cried on my birthday. Only half way through but so far kept it casual and have not let any bad thoughts come through. Replying to any kind messages but definitely not sitting and waiting for them. Woke up, went to work, currently drinking an iced chai by myself, meeting a friend later for a quick lunch and that’s about it! a regular mid may sunny day. Go outside. be kind to yourself. take it easyyy

When I'm by myself in public I like to assume the role of flaneur...I'm not *just* sitting in a cafe drinking coffee, I'm observing & musing & making assumptions about the philosophies of modern day life...it makes people-watching so powerful...
Also love going to a matinee movie (if you're taking the day off, which you should if you can!)
Also can't speak highly enough of a good nature trail/walk. Trying singing/humming to yourself while you're on it, and counting how many different kinds of birds you can spot ❣️ Congrats on 29 trips around the sun!

I met Erin (@RIOTGRRRL) and Jake (@SLOWDAZZLE) last year after I started using PI.FYI—we organized a meetup before a Jonathan Richman show and immediately clicked over our shared taste in music and similar sensibilities. We started hanging out a lot and had some great times together. I’ve also gotten to know many of their friends, who are all really cool. Erin and Jake started dating a couple of months after the three of us became friends, but our group chat still pops off. Their friendship has meant a lot to me, especially since moving to NYC in 2023, and I really appreciate having them in my life.
