David Bowie - Moss Garden
Written by Brian Eno, sprawling atmospheric synths sprinkled with bird chirps and sharp plucks make this record that special type of contemplative that turns to gratitude for beauty in everything. This is the kind of art that leads you to see things in a new and refreshing way. Listening to this reminds me of sitting by cold water on a hot day and feeling a frigid wave splash your feet every now and then to a rhythm you cant quite make sense of.
Porter Robinson - Dullscythe
Released in 2021 this record highlights that ever so slightly discordant PC Music sound that was prevalent in many projects of the time, all while having no official relationship to the label. Repetitive and jumpy beats with piano chops thrown about all bring together this feeling of childlike joy and excitement reminiscent of running, playing, and jumping in a field of green somewhere far, far away.
