the pure rush of stumbling onto a box of free/discarded random micellanous items, clothes or books especially in affluent neighborhoods like fort green and park slope the amount of practically new books and random things rich people get rid of is crazy so much waste in the world!! interested in dumpster diving and freeganism if anyone has experience

if you don't mind getting things off the street and maybe giving them a clean up once you get them back to your place, stooping can be a sick way to get free furniture. it's crazy what kinds of things people will just put on the curb in the city. there's some bigger instagram pages that will put things on their story but obviously things go pretty fast. if you find one that's smaller and maybe local to your neighborhood you'll get some bargains

Dumpster on 8th ave & 18 st - sick 70s wicker chair - old archer radio - 3 records (dolly, stevie wonder, elton) - “old farms: an illustrated guide” - picnic basket - table tray (not pictured) My friend found: way more records and books, different chair, typewriter! They were emptying the apt of an old lady who died. Sad to see someone’s life on the curb. At least we could save some things

winter - sweet oranges, persimmon etc summer - big heirloom tomato and sprinkle of salt, watermelon, stone fruit no need to worry about the mess bc u just wash it right away! someone or maybe the internet recommended eating a cold orange or other citrus in a hot shower and I can confirm that is also a great sensory experience
