Listened to this for the first time on the way to work this morning. Heavy asf and a kick to the jaw of an album. Badass record.

every time I give this a relisten Iām always shocked by how consistently great it is as an album. Obviously, āThe Idiotā gets a tonne of praise and deservedly so, and even though this album helms a lot of Iggy Popās most popular singles, I never see people talking about it as an album and what it does brilliantly.
even with āThe Idiotā, Iggy Pop was very much performing under David Bowie wing and environment- a lot of dark and brooding electronics and atmosphere which complimented Iggy well but, here he is definitively Iggy Pop.
I think people forget that āpunkā music (which Iggy hated the label of) doesnāt necessarily fall into a genre, more so an attitude of performance. This is proved time and time again in this album, as Iggy covers styles of hard rock, blues rock, ballads and soul- all unmistakably polished with a punk edge.
Punk isnāt the music you play, just how you play it (at least I think so), and itās so obvious that Iggy and the band just had a blast recording and performing this, they donāt take themselves seriously, if anything, poking fun at the restrictions of rock and pop songwriting in the process. Yet, the album never feels like itās smarter than you, itās inviting you in to feel the excitement.
Such a blast of a record, if you need a pick-me-up like I did today, give this a whirl!

I generally donāt like greatest hits albums, but this is one Iāve always gravitated to, mainly because it only has songs from my favorite era of the Stones, the 60s to the beginning of the 70s, rather than being a standard big retrospective compilation. Been giving it a lot of play this past week. Now I feel like firing up some Aftermath or Between The Buttons!

So for god knows what reason Iām being forced to work at 4:45 this morning and have a 12 hour shift. God save me. For my 45 minute commute I need to charge my cell phone, and canāt aux at the same time. Iām listening to my CD of Metallicaās And Justice For Allā¦ and I am kicking ass and taking names!!
I know itās basic, but I love AJFA and master of puppets, these albums just kick ass I love the guitar tone. Super quick and melodically not too hard on the ears, this is a great start to Metal if you never have listened!! One is maybe a top 5 song ever for me but I also love Harvester of Sorrow and Eye of the Beholder, if I had to pick a few. Bonus - the live Seattle ā89 concert on here is amazing and tied for my favorite live album (with men I trust). Enjoy lord help me

An absolute masterpiece from a genius gone way too soon. Jeff brings unbelievably powerful vocal performances and beautiful instrumentation, along with deeply poetic songwriting. A classic 90ās art rock album!

This album is seriously incredible. One of those albums that keeps me coming back for more and more and I seem to not get tired of it when I revisit. Some truly beautiful and also brutal and depressive moments on here that have only gotten better with time.
