On the surface, it’s pretty routine as far as heist movies go, but I fall in love with the characters every time I watch it. The cast is amazing all the way through and the action is well-choreographed. The chemistry of the four leads is so palpable, it reminds me of Thelma and Louise in the best way.

I remember reading about the poorly choreographed dance scenes in Boogie Nigbtw as a poor man’s ver of Saturday Night Fever. In the same, loving way, Donnie Brasco is a great film that missed the Scorsese slickness and cast to make it top shelf baller (Pacino and Depp, fuhgetabowdit!) No matter it‘s its own gem, no way a fugazzi. Enjoy with some black sambuca and an espresso. Bang!
