Techno-Orientalist science fiction where a "New Asia" is the technological antagonist to the West. In this future, the Orient is unable to control their own technologies, leading to political warfare. Great visuals, but this is still like maybe a 3/5.

Set in a futuristic world where humans have mastered technology and all material boundaries to the extent that they have mastered themselves, ANDROMAXIA depicts a woman's determination to capture the spotlight as one of the few human models in a fashion industry dominated by humanoids. In a statement, Szien discussed his idea of the future and the collective anxiety that coexists with the drive to innovate: "In my vision, this type of progress inevitably pits its products against humanity itself. Gorgeous and otherworldly braided story of folks stranded on a fantastical alien planet (that's half Codex Seraphinianus and half Heavy Metal magazine). A little intense and violent after the first few episodes, but the narrative is sophisticated & character development well done.
