All honesty I stole this from Jimothy Lacoste after watching his Fader piece in high school but it’s stuck ever since. Being able to frame anything that happens in the lens of ‘life is getting quite exciting’ does actually make it better. I know it treads on toxic positivity but it also looks for a better future so idk just a nice mantra

I followed some guy on ig who would post pictures of him doing his favorite things with the caption “today I choose life”. He explained it was because for a while, he was fighting with life and so the mantra helped him look towards the beautiful things it has to offer.

i always say it when im stressed out and just crashing out but its a way to gaslight myself into appreciating the experiences we have in life and its lowkey working and becoming more of an everyday thing in my life and i say it way too often

Ever since I got sober, I’ve had this nagging feeling that I got away with something that many people I’ve known over the years did not. Acknowledging this truth always alleviates any momentary anxiety I might be feeling and mainlines a potent batch of gratitude into my system. Life continues to throw a lot at you even after you’ve cleaned up your act, and in many ways it feels a lot harder to handle because reality isn’t so foggy anymore and problems aren’t as easy to shrug off as they once were. But remembering that I’m lucky to still be here at all and that I just might be in the bonus round of my life always makes me thrilled to be alive.“I want to live again!” - George Bailey, “It’s A Wonderful Life”

Saying ‘I’m going to my room’ is so mundane and I’m never going back to it

like actually going out and trying things. put in an effort and take pride in that (being effortless is soooo out for 2024). use this platform to find new amazing things! you can never really know what you like and what brings you joy and fulfillment and all that cheesy stuff unless you actually go and really try a bunch of stuff. I love trying!
