I do UX design and creative strategy (catchall idk) at a small design & development studio. We rule so if anyone needs a new site for their company hmu haha. I got here roundabout and have worked in art, farmers markets, and nonprofit comms before this — I think having a diverse work bg (and being a good writer) is super helpful for what I do.

Divesting

I left tech in 2020 burnt out from beige walls. Currently working outside doing residential compost pickup part-time and planting food forests. I opened an etsy shop turning recycled computer pieces into craft supplies, but it’s been a slow start. I love this life, but I need just a little more income to make it work, open to suggestions.

LAW OFFICE RECEPTIONIST

I starte it when I was taking my final summer classes to get enough credits. It wasn’t long before the office closed. After that I worked for an internet start up for six months as a content manager or something. I got laid off a little before everyone else did. Then I was an office temp and one of thos gigs hired me to work in their marketing department. The VP of marketing started a consulting firm and I went with him. Did that for 13 years and have been a freelance designer since 2011. I have a B.A. in psychology, obviously lol

I like setting the rice cooker while I get ready for the day, it’s like a timer for my routine. Sometimes I’ll make an egg to go on top, but usually I just mix the rice with a packet of instant miso soup and some hot water to make a savory porridge/ochazuke.
