old people have such good jackets that they leave behind when they either pass away or downsize to a retirement home! i find more hidden gems at estate sales because they're not as picked over as thrift stores. they're also usually much cheaper as well, since they're just trying to clear out the house! i recommend checking estatesales.net or estatesale.com for sales near u.

Saw someone post about estate sales and this website will direct you to any estate sales happening locally. My boyfriend and I have found such good kitchen stuff, vinyls, jackets, cassettes, ugh they truly do not make things to last like they once did. If I find who originally posted, I also share the sentiment of all these things once belonging to someone, I already feel that way about thrifting, left alone stepping into their home to buy up their stuff. It can be quite emotional, like when you happen upon a box of thousands of kodachrome slides and it really hits you that despite capturing moments of your life that are either worthwhile or mundane someone else has to step in the carry those memories too, in order for them to continue existing.

eBay you really have to pick through but you’ll find stuff! Everything but the house depends because the estate sales are temporary but some good stuff sometimes! And those resale websites like verstaire or the real real

It’s genuinely so fun to rummage through someone’s entire house, everything must go! Do your research, map out your day, and hit as many as you can. Get there early before the good stuff is gone, and be prepared to battle the resellers!

I love doing collages, cuz all you really need are magazine cutouts and glue. There's a very low barrier to entry, skill-wise AND supply-wise, unlike painting. Digital collages are fun too, but I try to have less screentime by doing the paper ones. If I want to re-use pieces instead of gluing them down permanently, sometimes I'll just take a picture of the current arrangement to immortalize it, and then start over on a new composition. That way, I don't have to constantly buy new magazines to get new cutouts. This is one of my favorite ones I've done so far:

This is the only thing that keeps me sane at work. It's so slow right now. If anyone is wondering why I've posted like 9 times today.

i always get stuck choosing which stuff to watch/read/get into next when i look at my huge former watchlists & TBR's. a lot of items are things i put on there years ago and never got around to, so usually by the time i check the list again, my tastes have totally changed. i realized it was hard to get myself excited or motivated about half the stuff i put on there anymore, but i felt indebted to knocking it out anyway just because it was on the list. i'd recommend letting your current feelings/impulses take the wheel, and trust that you'll come back around to any of the other options if they're right for you later on.
