In 2012 I had just moved to the states and one of my bffs sent me an fb message detailing all the high school drama that I had missed out on since my departure. She ended the message with "it's on like donkey kong >:)", specifically about some guy she had a crush on looking her way. it doesn't really make sense, but i use this phrase at least once a month 12 years later
This one has made it into the slang of myself and my friends. I usually like to use it as just like a "wack" type statement but I have used it as a compliment instead of "I'm proud of you."
