about the 1969 harlem music festival that took place the same summer woodstock did, and has such sick footage of amazing black artists like nina simone, sly & the family stone, bb king, the staples singers, mahalia Jackson, stevie wonder, etc. loved loved loved this and highly recommend!
I usually can’t bear documentaries where people just sit and tell stories on camera, so this one was such a gem for me. it’s entirely made up of footage from Bowie’s speeches and performances, much of which had never been seen before. the editing is boldly creative, and the overall experience feels like a trip
if you don’t know 2manydj’s/Soulwax/dewaele brothers, they’re a recommendation an sich ’cause these musical brothers changed the scene, they basically invented the mash-up and reimagine music in so many creative ways. the POTWND-documentary is an awesome high energy video diary from Soulwax on the road, must watch for everyone who loves music, it’s integral and free on youtube. I think i’ve seen it 6 times by now, and just writing about it makes me want to watch again! I love the animated intro which is -fun fact- voice overed by Soko. “I LOVE YOU SOULWAX YOU MAKE ALL MY DREAMS COME TRUE!” is my favourite quote in it. 🪩🪩🪩
It’s nice to be the one in the friend group who always has a game planned. I keep one deck in my purse and one on my car. Then have some quick games that are easy to teach. I suggest: Six Card Golf
Garbage
Bullshit
Presidents and Assholes
