I’ve amassed a decent collection this way and most are only minorly scratched. I either judge by the cover or pick out composers I’m interested in. Listen to them in the morning while having breakfast and feel invigorated !

The best bang for your buck at the record store is the classical section! Reasons:
1) they are in low demand so they are often CHEAP (I got 5 new records for under $15)
2)they are UNIQUE! it’s hard or (sometimes) impossible to find the exact version of a classical record you find in a store on youtube or spotify. Sure you havn’t listened to it yet, but isn’t it exciting to think unless you buy this record you may never experience this piece of time and art elsewhere.
3) they are good! plus they have cool covers! thank you leonard bernstein

vinyl is too expensive now so ive been collecting cds, it’s nice to have cds because my car is old and I have a cd player so they actually do get used. I don’t listen to my vinyls much at all but they looked cool on my wall at my apartments. Glad I’m getting practical use out of the cds 🥹

vinyls are expensive, but CDs are not. there are clocks that can read CDs so you can wake up with Tasty by Kelis, Enema of the State by Blink 182 or whatever ambient medieval concept album. it’s cute, it’s easy to program, you‘re organically in contact with an object to access the art. the thrill to go on a hunt to find your fav albums ever for 2€, or the joy of making it yourself by printing the cover, crafting some mixtapes, offering it to your loved ones as a love langage. possessing your fav music again (if internet goes down, you’ll still be entertain), the immersion into an entire universe for an hour instead of just playing some parts of it on random mode…
