i can only think of two songs with practically identical titles: 1. sara smile by hall & oates and 2. sarah smiles by panic! at the disco. both great songs and i’m pretty sure that the second one is about the lead singer brendon urie’s wife ✨

can we normalize not knowing genres or the nitty gritty of why you like a song and accept that some people just like it based on vibes? (it’s me. i’m some people)
-“From The Start” by Good Kid covers often are hit or miss, but this is an absolute banger. somehow combining the jazz of the orginal Laufey tune with indie rock is everything anyone could possibly need and more. plus the indie rock makes the heartthrob of the lyrics hit so much harder. the delivery of the lyrics is just 👌 it’s just the perfect song to belt out and i love it so much
-“Saturday Sun” by Vance Joy indie folk!!! highly recommend!!! this shit is amazing!! the good vibes and the hope this song brings is just it. something something being in love and being happy. this song is just great
-“About A Girl” by Nirvana I really like grunge rock apparently. depressing grunge rock. and this is depressing as shit. just- it- yeah i don’t even know what to say about this song. it’s great and sad and- yeah yay! unhealthy relationships! (ahhhhhh)
-“Silver Springs” by Fleetwood Mac i already posted about Rumours, but this is my favorite off the album, and it’s not even actually on the original album. passing this over for “I Don’t Want To Know” was certainly a choice, but i wasn’t alive in 1977 so what do i care? (i love both songs) in terms of the actual song, i don’t have a marriage that’s coming to a tulmoltuous end, but the feminine rage emitted from this song is everything. if you ain’t singing your heart out in the second half, you’re doing it wrong.

so this is overlapping with part 3 cuz im adding so much new music-
“if someone’s gonna love you” by Operelly i got this song off of here! i love this app! and i love this song! soft indie folk like this is amazing. it’s so soothing and intimate and sad all at the same time
-For Your Sins by Dea Matrona this whole album is literally my taste in music. it is everything i need in my life. it’s if feminism was a music genre. my favorites are “So Damn Dangerous”, “Glory Glory (I am Free)”, and “Did Nobody Ever Love You?”
-Birdie by Slaughter Beach, Dog this is peak indie music. just some guys in a basement with a low budget and acoustic guitar singing about love and life. my favorites off the album are “Acolyte” and “Gold and Green”
-“mary poppins” by bbno$ yeah this song is… something else. bbno$ is my favorite rapper and i love the parody rap and how unserious he is.
-“girls” by girl in red happy pride month, bitches!!! for this pride month, i’m giving up men. bc they suck (this is pan erasure and i will not stand for it but it’s ok bc im erasing myself) (that does not make any sense) but im obsessed with this song even tho i have a crush on a man and it’s killing me- i love women, but the women don’t love me back 😭😭

MUSIC IM LISTENING TO PART 5

i’m discovering so many new songs recently it’s insane-
-“She (Rent Free)” by Gabe Rivera this song lives in my head rent free. Gabe’s an acquaintance of mine and holy shit is his guitar playing and just overall music production skill so good. he’s got a few songs out now and this one sticks out to me cuz i too have someone living in my head rent free and overall it’s just amazing if you like indie rock, go check him out! Gabe Rivera on all platforms!
-“Brass Monkey” by Beastie Boys i love how unserious the Beastie Boys are. their music is always so amazing. i randomly remembered this song existed one morning and rolled up to school blasting it-
-“Just a Girl” by No Doubt i am just a girl :)
-“Standing By” by Homestyle Dinner Rolls i’ve been following them on Instagram for a while and just now decided to actually listen to their music. this one is such a heartthrob (my favorite kind of music)
-“Ophelia” by The Lumineers this song has been on repeat for the last like 5 hours. i have an unhealthy obsession with it. there’s something about this song that is just so addicting. i don’t know what it is but i fucking love it
