It would be cool to have some sort of ability to recommend a show or some type of event and have it show up on a central calendar that people could use to find stuff to check out or meetup at. It could have a couple fields like ālocationā, āself-promoā, ācontact meā that people could use to filter the events

Sort of like those community bulletin boards in cafes except itās virtual and maybe more organized ā¦ like by date or something
I always Wanted inst*gram to get a function where I could save an event thatās posted in a place with other stuff Iām interested in going to so that I can easily look and like actually remember itās happening and go .. the bookmark/save function just gets too cluttered and Iām not organized enough to just put things in my calendar all the time

Itās good for remembering doctorās appointments but also friendsā birthdays and for noting events Iām looking forward to, like a movie release. Even better when you add related emojis.

not the boring, recurring ones your boss sends about corporate all-hands meetings. send your friends silly, outlandish, over-enthusiastic calendar invites for dinner, drinks, whatever. it serves the dual purpose of reminding you about plans AND showing your pals some love.

I met Erin (@RIOTGRRRL) and Jake (@SLOWDAZZLE) last year after I started using PI.FYIāwe organized a meetup before a Jonathan Richman show and immediately clicked over our shared taste in music and similar sensibilities. We started hanging out a lot and had some great times together. Iāve also gotten to know many of their friends, who are all really cool. Erin and Jake started dating a couple of months after the three of us became friends, but our group chat still pops off. Their friendship has meant a lot to me, especially since moving to NYC in 2023, and I really appreciate having them in my life.
