A fan of his films⦠maybe not the man himself⦠Also anything on criterion to be honest.
Would throw in Jean Luc Godard, Krzysztof KieÅlowski, Agnes Varda etc.
I want to go in the criterion closet so god damn bad. I wouldnāt have any crazy crazy picks mind you, Iām but a man. I just want to go in there and talk about my favorite movies and hold copies of them and maybe even take them home. What would be your first pick in the closet? For me it would be a Terrence Malick film OR Young Girls of Rochefort. thank you.
this guys somehow been in nothing Iāve heard of but everything Iāve seen as of late. heās mastered the ābeing the european guy in the roomā role and has been in so many culty films, notably a lot of Von Trier stuff which I can take or leave Iām. Sorry. he has a great scene in My Own Private Idaho performing a kind of desperate musical number (his OWN ORIGINAL SONG) holding a lamp. he also has a name-droppy criterion closet video which is my favorite kind.
And youāre set for life (with the added effort of maintaining it). I used to try to surround myself with people who I thought were cool and also tried so bad to fit in. I still do feel conscious about that sometimes when I front for a person I place on a pedestal or really am infatuated with (in a platonic way). Iāve also had friends I get easily frustrated with who point out my mistakes as jokes but Iāve realised are super flawed and insecure. It becomes a relationship where you slowly turn into a projection of them. (Iām not sure how to phrase it). And Iām the kind that forgives very easily the moment someone is nice to me. Howeverrrrr⦠over the past few years and more so over the past year I found a group of people I could be open and comfortable with⦠and I have to say an open and fulfilling relationship with the right people and friends will make you a much better person overall. Iāve also been so inspired by the circle of friends Iāve got now. Itās not necessarily the friends who always ask you to go out to shop or hang but the friends who you do things with and talk about anything with. Gratefully & Gratituously,
I love my friends.
