it was the second. he bought us tickets to see parasite and was sooo excited that the amc seats reclined. it's literally why he chose that movie theater.
he even double-checked with the ticket girl that our theater would have reclining seats.
she told him the theater number had changed, and we no longer had those types of seats. he was heart broken and angry. we found our seats, put our stuff down, and then he said he was going to go back and ask the ticket girl why we no longer had the reclining seats theater. i did not join him.
then he answered his phone in the MIDDLE of the movie and talked for a few. it clearly wasn't an emergency. he even left for a few minutes to keep talking on the phone outside of the theater. when he came back, all he said was "what did i miss?" he never apologized for it.
i should have left when he took the call but alas i still got dinner with him after

This was during one of the first dates I went on after quarantine was up, and we were watching the austin powers movies together bc he had never seen any of them (to set the tone of the story, it was already awkward-ish). During the first movie he asked to kiss me, and I said yes, but when we leaned in, it was really short and we kind of missed a little. So I wanted to lighten the mood and said “Oh that was a weird kiss haha!“, thinking he’d laugh it off too. But he just stared at me like 😒 and didn‘t respond so I think I pissed him off. So I just was like “oh um haha“ 🫤 and we just went back to watching the movie.

if i am presented with an intrusive thought about ppl who do not like me for my past mistakes (they're probably not thinking about me key word intrusive) i shift my focus onto my friends who love me for who i have grown into (less unhinged) it is freeing 🕊️
