it was the second. he bought us tickets to see parasite and was sooo excited that the amc seats reclined. it's literally why he chose that movie theater.
he even double-checked with the ticket girl that our theater would have reclining seats.
she told him the theater number had changed, and we no longer had those types of seats. he was heart broken and angry. we found our seats, put our stuff down, and then he said he was going to go back and ask the ticket girl why we no longer had the reclining seats theater. i did not join him.
then he answered his phone in the MIDDLE of the movie and talked for a few. it clearly wasn't an emergency. he even left for a few minutes to keep talking on the phone outside of the theater. when he came back, all he said was "what did i miss?" he never apologized for it.
i should have left when he took the call but alas i still got dinner with him after

There was this guy that I knew from a scholarship program that I was in. After the program ended we kept hanging out and this was our first time hanging out outside of the program. I think our first date was thrifting and food. He picked me up from work and afterwards drove me back to my car. We were parked in his car for about two hours just talking and then he walked me to my car. We did the whole awkward goodbye thing where I stand by my car and he’s like posted up on a tree and it’s quiet.. and then we hugged and he went in for a kiss WAY TOO FAST clashing teeth (…) and then ends up biting my lip and bruising it DEADASS. But then I called my friend on the way home and debriefed it.. now that we’re no contact I realize he is my fav ex bc of what he COULDVE been and he’s the LAST man I’ve dated

if i am presented with an intrusive thought about ppl who do not like me for my past mistakes (they're probably not thinking about me key word intrusive) i shift my focus onto my friends who love me for who i have grown into (less unhinged) it is freeing 🕊️
