I’ve been drawing everyday in a sketchbook everyday since 2018. Drawing is something that I’ve always wanted to be good at since I was very little. It’s a skill that anyone can learn, just like any other skill. It’s not a walled-off talent that only comes to a certain number of people, anyone can pick it up and learn. I love how meditative the process can be, it slows you down and forces you to see objects and perspectives for what they really are, not how you imagine them to be.

sadly never been artistically talented with a pen (much to my disappointment) but doing small quick drawings is helping me battle against this desire for my creative outlets to be perfect or visually appealing. Not getting discouraged or hyperfixating on the look of it, rather focusing on how good it feels to put pen to paper It’s very freeing and I will continue to draw inanimate objects poorly without shame

I bring a sketchbook wherever I go, especially when I know I’ll be going to places with art or interesting architecture. If you’re not an “artist” or have little experience in physical mediums I think it’s still a great mental exercise and cannot recommend it enough! Every skill is learned! Here’s a sketch from today based off of Mattia Preti‘s “Saint Paul the Hermit”

A ton, like I get lost in it. Idk I took art all 4 years in high school and idk it’s one of those things you just forget as you get older. Like maybe it’s the lack of having paper and pen around, but I draw all the time these days. You don’t realize how many little doodles you would make until you stop doodling. Idk drawing is fun

I continue to miss the feeling, novelty and overall fun of the old internet and this is just what I needed, and what the internet as a whole needed.
