One of the many takes on the classic: Aundrey Hepburn goes from the prettiest woman on earth on a frumpy gown to the prettiest woman on earth in a pretty gown. But what can I say, i have a huge soft spot for that. And, Funny Face features such great dance sequences from both Audrey and Fred Astaire, completed with the amazing visuals and costumes.
And S'Wonderful is just one of the most romantic songs of all. really one of my comfort watches

A wonderful musical with an all child cast (including a young Jodi Foster, filmed the same year as Taxi Driver!) lip synching to songs sung by adults-- and the songs are actually all stand alone greats! As a tween all you want is to cosplay as an adult, making a movie that does just that (esp. one that includes guns and boxing and bootlegging and cabarets) is soooo genius. I watch this once a year and have the soundtrack on vinyl. I was reminded of it again recently because one of my coolest friends posted a screenshot of it on Instagram and it was the first time I've seen another adult express Bugsy knowledge/adoration. For a while it was mad hard to find but lucky for you it's now available via shitty rip on Youtube (linked above). Great snow day viewing!

The songs, the dream ballet, Cyd Charisse's green dress, Donald O'Connor's performance of Make 'Em Laugh, Gene Kelly doing one of the most iconic scenes in cinematic history with a fever, Debbie Reynolds emerging out of a big cake, this film has it all.
IMDb has a lot of fascinating facts about this film and it sounded like a terrible project to work on but wow what a film
