Instructions for best listening conditions included in the title. I used to blast this from the roof of my old apartment while dancing around on said roof with a beer in my hand. I would teleport back there in a heartbeat. Also to get so unserious for a sec I'm playing Boombastic any time I'm driving.
house, 60s soul and clips from post war british films blended together to make this album stand out to me considering how dominant britpop/rock was in the 90s
Although Bowie is a 70's guy (my favorite work of his is from that time) the whole Scary Monsters (And Super Creeps) album is always a good ride. "Ashes to Ashes" is definitely my favourite, though.
I could also recommend U2 and Mötley Crüe, but they're not everyone's cup of tea.
About a year ago, I started my first (public sector) union job after years of non-union work for different companies in the private sector. The difference in collective bargaining (0-100), benefits, job security, and mental/physical well being has been nothing short of amazing. If you are currently strung out, feeling hopeless about your career in a private sector/non-union position or field, and are wondering if there’s something better for you - there is. I took a massive pay cut from private-public for the many benefits of a union job, and it was 100% worth it. Roughly 35% of public sector jobs are union-represented, and that percentage is higher in blue, worker-friendly states. Start applying to open positions that may interest you on your local/state government’s job board, use any connection you may have (I didn’t have one and still found something) - there is a better career for you out there :)
Will probably reach 100,000 today and am very proud of this volume of spam and junk I’ve accumulated over a decade-plus. It takes effort to achieve this level of chaos.
