You may recognize one of the tracks (Deep Blue Day) off this album because itโs in the Trainspotting soundtrack. But other than that, Apollo is just overall a beautiful ambient album that I always revisit either while writing or just while resting.ย
Love all his work and recently found out he coined the term โambient musicโ which is telling of how impactful his work has been for the musical landscape of the past 50 years, and his latest album just shows how heโs still got it
we are literally on a rock orbiting a star in space the โyou are hereโ meme makes me remember how minuscule my human problems are on a grander scale itโs a humbling & silly reminder that even when we feel like our personal world is so small & are problems are earth-shattering, we are not the center of the universe !
kinda vague & all encompassing, but truly connection in all forms keeps me going. this could look like love or belonging but itโs more than that! itโs a feeling of being intertwined and interwoven with Life itself. itโs a connection to people, self, nature, animals, art, music, history, etc. when you feel that sense of connection with something, it just feels so light and blissful, you feel involved in life/the world & less alone, you understand yourself and feel an hopeful openness thatโs indescribable โจ
