I’m not sure what all the limitations are for you for transporting stuff, but if you’re walking a significant distance I also recommend buying a dolly or a shopping cart. The first is best for boxes and the second is probably better if you use bags. Both have future uses in them but a sturdy shopping cart obviously could be used every week if you live in a city and don’t use a car.

It's just so annoying to lug boxes around the city plus most retail places will overcharge you. Get them + packing tape + a fat sharpie all at once on instacart. It's worth the $10-15 delivery fee to have them dropped off at your door.

looking for recommendations for the best, highest quality, longest lasting, and overall good value items? look no further Buy It For Life is a subreddit dedicated to best-in-class recommendations for any item you can think of. At the tip of your fingers, you have 2.2 million people ready to tell you exactly what to buy and where to buy it. It's Perfectly Imperfect but dedicated to shopping, and it's made my life (and shopping) infinitely easier. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- I recently moved into a new place and decided to ditch the ikea-quality-fresh-out-of-college clutter I've accumulated and actually invest in some quality items, such as: - cutlery - fan - bedsheets - etc. The folks on BIFL come prepared with recommendations, receipts, and alternatives if you need something in your budget. It's a straightforward, no-nonsense, helpful corner of the internet. ENJOY <3

Spring always brings it out of me. The buds on the trees! The breezy warmth! The tulips appearing where there was once only a small patch of dirt for dogs to piss on! Everything is incredible and awesome and absurd and I’m always so grateful for the moments I can get past my own relatively small problems to stand in awe of the world :,)

you choose a decade and a country and it gives you obscure music from that time and place. built from the private collections of djs and crate diggers all over the world, there are so many gems on here. bonus roadtrip game–play a song and make your car mate guess the country/decade

Probably the most important tactile skill I possess! Being able to mend your own clothes, tailor them to get the perfect fit, and even design/make your own clothes is so rewarding, not to mention hella sustainable. The entire thrift store is my size bc I have a sewing machine and I can take things in or out as needed. Linking a solid podcast ep that talks about sewing from a historical and philosophical context too hehe everyone should know how to sew
