musically i think the album carrie and lowell by sufjan stevens is a masterpiece and an amazing portrayal of grief of any kind/ childhood/ queerness/ family dynamics visually i think my favorite show to talk about is pete and pete i think it’s another great example of childhood and the beautiful falsehoods of adolescenc. it’s also funny (the halloween, new years, and end of summer episodes r my favorit) **the show moral orel is also worth mentioning just bc i like it lol

for when you need to just feel good and weird and slightly less sad everyone i know who loves this show found it at a time that they were on the verge of a nervous breakdown. i don't know exactly why it appeals to people in crisis but it does. it's a silly talk show but it's also a show about community, kindness, being true to yourself and it's really fuckin fun

of all the tiny majestic shows i’ve come across, this one spoke most deeply to my inner grungy skateboarding man. the show is constantly in conversation with itself, not to mention its trippy as hell. i can never bring myself to binge shows, but this one ascends my predetermined notions of myself, i can finish this series in one sitting. if i were to recommend only one show, it would be this.

I would recommend this entire show to anyone, but this episode specifically is about grief and love. It is a conversation the creator recorded between him and his mom before she died. This show was such a comfort for me right after my dad died. Funny aside, I actually hung out with the creator for a weekend way back in 2007!
