10th of December by George Saunders. read The Semplica Girl Diaries and Victory Lap in high school and was hooked. The title story and Puppy, too, are some of my favorites
I don’t remember the last time a book made me actually laugh, smile, and cry over its course. It’s not only a beautiful and hopeful story, but it’s also METICULOUSLY researched. A little something for everyone, especially the existential, hopeful, and maybe a little history nerdy among us.
it’s never gone badly for me — i am always glad that i impulse bought antiques! do not be afraid of impulse buying antiques….everything made pre reagan is cooler, more chic, and virtually indestructible.
