I think I’m not supposed to run there because it’s ~disrespectful~ but I personally feel very reverential as I run through the cemetery, it’s so beautiful and full of history. Plus there are very few parks near me and cemeteries near me have the best views. I will continue to recreate there. I always slow to a walk if I see someone tending a grave. 🖤💐

I’ve been going for morning walks when possible in this overgrown cemetery close to me. It’s very peaceful and I can hear birds chirping.. It feels like a very necessary city detox. If I’m feeling stressed or anxious being amongst all the gravestones helps put things in perspective!

I love taking a good nature walk. Back in high school I had to wait upwards of 3 hours for my dad to come and pick me up (come late junior and senior year they told me to just take the bus home), I made it a bit of a habit of walking along the backyard of my school, it was this huge grassy space with trees and a river further back. Thinking of it now, it wasn’t very big, but man the self reflection I did there was crazy. Now I frequent downtown a lot because of school, so I just walk around getting lost, occasionally going to the parks nearby and just sitting and thinking.

Even if you have other creative pursuits that require your brain to work, it’s fun to have one that requires very little thought or attention. I started crocheting a couple years ago and it’s perfect while sitting in front of the TV or listening to a podcast or just zoning out. Makes me feel productive even as my brain melts out my ears, and makes me feel creative even when I’m not doing any cooler, more challenging projects that require more of my energy.
